A TOP York restaurant sponsored a special celebration tea party at Clifton Alliance Cricket Club for one of the York groups of Contact the Elderly, a charity which works to tackle loneliness and social isolation among older people.
The event was held in celebration of the group’s volunteers, many of whom have been involved with the charity for more than ten years.
More than 30 people attended, all guests, volunteers and supporters of the York group, enjoying a delicious afternoon tea provided by The Star Inn the City.
Its head chef, Matt Hunter, served everyone their afternoon tea, and said: “It’s great to see so many people enjoying the afternoon tea and each other’s company.”
