A biker has died in a collision with a car near Scarborough.
Stuart John Green, 26, from Staxton, was with two others on Friday as he travelled along the A171 between Whitby and Scarborough, at the junction with Gowlands Lane, at 8.20pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision involved a black Range Rover and a silver Yamaha motorcycle, which were both travelling south at the time.
The Range Rover was driven by a 38-year-old man from Scarborough who was uninjured in the collision.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision, and anyone who saw either the Range Rover or the three motorcyclists travelling along the A171 prior to the crash, to contact them.
