A MOTORBIKE rider was seriously injured in a crash near Pickering on Sunday afternoon.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to help them piece together what happened at the collision at Saltersgate Bank on the A169 Pickering to Whitby road at around 1.40pm on Sunday.
It happened when a silver Kia Picanto, driving towards Whitby, was in a crash with a black Harley-Davidson motorbike, heading towards Pickering.
A 55-year-old woman from Strensall was seriously hurt and was taken to James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, where she remains in a stable condition.
The road was closed for a short time following the collision.
