Visitors to a city attraction will be treated to an historic view of Roman York.

Set within the cellar waiting room of Treasurer's House, on Minster Yard, the model tells the story of the site’s connections to the ancient past.

The room was recently developed to tell this hidden history of the city's ancient roots, and will tell the story of Harry Martindale, an apprentice engineer who claims he experienced ghostly sightings of a Roman army while working in the Treasurer’s House cellar in 1953.

To find out more about Harry’s story and the hidden history of the Roman site, visit The National Trust building every day except Friday, when it is closed to the public.

The first guided tour is at 11.20am, the last at 3.40pm.

Tours last for 25 minutes and are free to National Trust members.

Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £2.50 for children. Minimum age is eight.
