DOZENS of pets and their owners took part in the annual Thompsons Pet Show this weekend.

The event, by Thompsons of York, took place at the York Auction Market in Murton on Saturday, with more than a dozen events and categories for pets of all kinds to take part in.

Two-year-old Sky, owned by Kirstin Mumby, 13, won in the Best Condition category, while 14-week-old Buddy took the Cutest Crossbreed title.

Best Rescue Dog went to four-year-old Looroll, owned by Sue Woodcock, while prizes were also awarded to Best Exotic Pet, Best Trick, and Dog That Looks Most Like Owner.

Prizes on offer included a year's worth of free food for the animals, and there were stalls from local groups and charities for visitors.
