You're hired! - Young people who dream of becoming an apprentice packed a recruitment event to highlight the 250 jobs going begging in York.
Nearly 400 people attended the second Apprenticeship Recruitment Event hosted by York Council at The Hilton Hotel.
Employers such as Nestle, the health service, York Council, Melton’s, McDonalds, International Service, and Purenet were among more than 30 exhibitors offering guidance.
Opportunities are up for grabs across business and finance, hospitality, construction, digital media, engineering, health care and marketing.
The event followed the previous Challenge which saw 104 businesses pledge to create 162 new Apprenticeship opportunities.
Cllr Janet Looker, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “It was great to see so many people attend such an informative event.
"It is fantastic that we can support opportunities for young people, as well as helping businesses grow and keep young talent within the city.”
It is hoped the event will become annual. For more information go to www.apprenticeships.org.uk or yorkapprenticeships on Facebook or @yorkapprentices on Twitter.
