YOUNG people in York were given the chance to have their say on services at the first ‘Speak Up’ Event for Looked After Children earlier this month.
The discussion session at Energise was followed by activities including dancing, football, climbing and dj-ing.
The event was organised by York’s Children’s Rights and Advocacy Service, who provide participation opportunities and advocacy to children and young people who are in care.
Councillor Janet Looker, City of York Council cabinet member for education, children and young people, said: “I hope we’ll be able to use the feedback from the day to make our services even more focused on the needs of the young people themselves.
