A 24-YEAR-OLD North Yorkshire man has been arrested in connection  with the murder of a man in Leeds in the early hours of this morning. 

At 3.13am, officers were called to reports of a fight in a hallway at Citispace South, in Regent Street, Leeds. A 22-year-old man was found with serious injuries and although he was treated at the scene, he was later pronounced dead at Leeds General Infirmary.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and another man, also aged 24, was arrested from an address in Sherburn-in-Elmet.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Morgan, from West Yorkshire Police Protective Services , said: "We are treating the man’s death as murder and have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

"A post mortem examination is due to be carried out later today to establish the cause of death. A scene is in place at the location and that will undergo a detailed forensic examination today.

"Two men have been arrested and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

"I would appeal for anyone who was in the building at the time and witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation to contact us immediately."
