A TEENAGER has been targeted in an attempted robbery in York.

The 14-year-old boy was walking along Heworth Green towards Malton Road when he was stopped by two men on mopeds sometime between 3.30am and 4.30am on Monday.

The men, who were both wearing helmets, attempted to take his wallet before riding off empty-handed. The victim suffered a cut eye in the incident but did not need to go to hospital.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows who is responsible to contact them with information.
