A GROUP of insurance brokers will be donning their tutus and deely bopper headbands as they prepare to take part in an annual race to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Eighteen members of staff from DE Ford Insurance Brokers, based at Low Poppleton Lane, York, have teamed up to take on the Race for Life at York Racecourse with some choosing to take on the 5K race option and others opting for the 10K.
Marketing coordinator Caroline Brooks said that the women in the office were all looking forward to lacing up their trainers and running to raise as much cash to support the fight against cancer as possible.
She said: "We are all really getting in to the spirit of it now and there's a large team of us so hopefully we can raise lots of money.
"I think it’s about five weeks away now and personally I need to get training. A lot of the women are heading out after work to run and some have times they want to complete it in and for others it's a personal challenge.
"It's all for a great cause as well."
The women, who range from between 22 to their mid-50s, will join more than 1,500 other runners in the women's only race on Sunday, June 22.
