AS part of ‘Make a Will and Dying Matters Awareness Week’ this month, St Leonard's Hospice is offering the chance to have a will written in return for a donation to the work of the hospice.

Four local solicitors – Langleys Solicitors LLP, Ware & Kay LLP, Quality Solicitors Burn & Company and Bromets Jackson Heath Solicitors – have generously agreed to give their time to write basic wills, free of charge in exchange for a suggested minimum donation.

Sue Edwards, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: "It’s vitally important to make a will to let family and friends know your wishes – and it can be a lot more affordable and straightforward than you think.

"Making a will allows you to make things easier for those you leave behind, as well as ensuring your wishes are clear if you choose to leave a gift to a charity; these gifts help support future generations and cost nothing in your lifetime. The legacies that St Leonard’s receives enable us to continue to provide care and support for local people with life-threatening illnesses. "

Anyone who wants to make a will should make an appointment with one of the participating solicitors by June 12. Numbers are limited.
