A CYCLE Sportive, organised by the Rotary Club of Pocklington and Market Weighton and Clifton Cycling Club will be held this weekend.
The fourth annual Sportive is not a race or time trial, but an organised personal challenge, with routes of 25, 60 or 100 miles, and takes place on Saturday, setting off from the Henry Thirsk Amenity Centre in Pocklington.
The 25 mile route includes reasonably flat roads between Pocklington and Stamford Bridge, the 60 and 100 mile routes take in more challenging roads in the Yorkshire Wolds, with long, steep climbs and descents, testing all-round bike riding skills rather than flat-out speed.
The Sportive includes transponder timing, feed stations, breakdown recovery and fully signed routes, and will raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
