POLICE have tracked down three men they wanted to speak to after an alleged assault in York city centre.

A man suffered a broken nose and another man also required hospital treatment after the incident.

CCTV images were released of three men police want to speak to in connection with the assault, which happened near Clifford Street, outside York Dungeon.

It happened on May 23 at about 3am, and involved a large group of men assaulting two men, North Yorkshire Police said.

The three men have now been identified as a direct result of the public appeal, and a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said they will be spoken to by officers.
