TWO villages have recruited more than a dozen frogs to make their garden trail a success this weekend.

The green amphibians will be hiding in each garden in Upper and Nether Poppleton that will welcome the public on Saturday and Sunday.

The Poppleton Community Railway Nursery, Millennium Green, Methodist Church Sensory Garden and local allotments will also be open and the three-mile circular route will have plant stalls and refreshments.

Organiser John Craven said: “We have some beautiful, quirky and fascinating gardens opening this time along with a number of other attractions which we hope will bring in a record numbers of visitors.”

The frogs will be part of a competition for children who will have to find them and their names.
