A YORK woman has made the shortlist for a national blogging competition.

Lisa Camps of Micklegate is a finalist in the UK Blog Awards for her wedding and lifestyle blog, HappyHomemade.co.uk

Lisa, 26, saw off competition from more than 2,000 entrants in a public vote, which saw 42,000 votes cast, to get to the final.

She set up HappyHomemade to follow her attempts to home-make everything for her wedding next year, which will take place in Cornwall.

Lisa said: "I am absolutely overwhelmed and so pleased to have made it through to the final. I only started HappyHomemade in October but already it’s gathered such a large following, I just didn’t expect it to be so popular.

"I find so much joy in crafting, so being able to share that with other people is amazing. The fact that I’m in the final of the Blog Awards is just be the icing on the cake."

More than 2,000 people have viewed the blog since its launch in October, and it has gained more than 700 followers. Lisa has also been asked to provide material for a national weekly women's magazine.

The second National UK Blog Awards take place in London in April.
