MORE than 30 teams from around York are taking part in a charity It's A Knockout tournament.

Up to 36 teams, including a team from The Press, will take part in the challenge in support of St Leonard's Hospice, cheered on by hospice mascot Lenny Bear.

The tournament takes place on Sunday at York's Knavesmire from 10.30am, with challenges including games around the theme of summer holidays, shopping sprees in Amsterdam, and all games made more difficult by foam, water and inflatable costumes.

The winning team will be presented with a special Hospice It's a Knockout shield, and there will also be a family fun day throughout Sunday including giant inflatables, slides, a gold challenge and welly wanging, with entry absolutely free.

Annie Keogh, Corporate Fundraiser at St Leonard's, said: "The Press team is up against some stiff opposition at this year’s tournament, so we hope they'll be able to report a good story of victory at the end! Do come along and cheer the teams – and have a good laugh at their antics!"

The day is run by Graham Fisher's International It's a Knockout Organisation, and all proceeds will go to St Leonard's Hospice.
