TWO brothers are being questioned on suspicion of affray following a 'domestic altercation' on the A1079 near York.

Armed police were called out last night following reports of two men being involved in a fight, which possibly involved a weapon.

North Yorkshire Police said today that officers were called at about 6.20pm to a domestic altercation involving two brothers on the A1079 near Dunnington.

"The incident is believed to have started at a house in a nearby village," said a spokeswoman.

"The police received a number of calls from members of the public who were concerned for the safety of the men.

"The two men involved in the incident, aged 26 and 32 and from the York area, were both arrested on suspicion of affray and taken into police custody where they currently remain."
