A 20-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a police officer and using threatening behaviour in the city centre on Friday afternoon.
He was arrested following an incident in Nessgate and Spurriergate, which led to part of Nessgate being closed off and buses were delayed by half an hour as a result.
The 20-year-old will appear before York magistrates on September 4.
