A 65-YEAR-OLD man has been robbed in North Yorkshire.

The offender struck at 12.05am on Saturday in Sherburn-in-Elmet.

The victim, a local man, was walking along the bottom of Wolsey Croft when he was approached by another man near the Chinese takeaway on Kirkgate. The robber demanded money, which the victim handed over.

North Yorkshire Police say the suspect had a grey hood tied across his face, was in his 20s, and was about 6ft tall with a slim build. He came from the direction of The Swan pub.
