TWIN midday supervisors, Norma Lee and Lesley Helps, are retiring from Huntington School after more than 50 years’ service between them.

Lesley has worked at the York secondary school for 30 years and Norma 25, helping ensure the children have been safe, happy and cared for during countless lunchtimes.

As well as her midday supervisor role, Norma has worked in the PE department for more than ten years. The non-identical twins, who are 64, will retire next week.

Norma said: "We have had a party already and everyone has been so kind. We will miss the children most, there are some lovely kids here. We're looking forward to spending more time with our husbands, maybe?! And now we'll be able to go on holiday when we like."

Head teacher John Tomsett, said: “We will all miss Lesley and Norma greatly. They have looked after thousands of children over the years with love and care, and they have brought a smile to us all. It will not be quite the same without them. I wish them all the very best in their retirement.”
