Rail delays after person hit by train

A PERSON has been hit by a train this morning.
The incident happened near Darlington, and is causing delays of up to 90 minutes on rail services between York and Newcastle.
A spokesman for Network Rail said replacement buses are running to York from Newcastle and Middlesbrough, but East Coast, First Trans Pennine Express and Arriva Cross Country will accept each other's tickets until the lines were reopened.
Travellers were advised to expect delays until at least 3pm.
