A TEENAGER has been targeted in an attempted robbery in York.

A 14-year-old boy was walking along Heworth Green towards Malton Road when he was stopped by two men on mopeds sometime between 3.30am and 4.30am yesterday.

The men, who were both wearing helmets, attempted to take his wallet before riding off empty-handed.

The victim suffered a cut eye in the incident but did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows who is responsible to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Detective Constable Mike Avison or York CID.
