York students are being urged to claim refunds for their term-time TV licence as they prepare for the long vacation.
TV Licensing is reminding undergraduates and others living away from home during term-time they may be entitled to a £36.67 refund if they bought a TV licence at the start of the 2013/14 academic year and don't watch television on any device at their term-time address in the last quarter of the year.
Phil Davis, chair of the National Association of Student Money Advisors, said: "“The summer months are a fantastic opportunity for students to return home and use every opportunity to repair their bank balances. Getting a refund on the unused three months of a TV licence is a really easy step to take."
Refunds can be arranged online through www.tvlicensing.co.uk/studentinfo or by calling TV Licensing on 0300 790 6113.
