JAMES, aged four, handles a white barn owl, one of the birds of prey which are part of a new permanent attraction for summer in York’s Museum Gardens.

Visitors will be able to see the birds of prey display until August 31.

Head falconer Ryan Stocks will be showcasing six birds of prey which vary every day, including a European eagle owl named Olive, Gloria the little owl, Sky the barn owl and a Harris hawk named Leon.

Daily flying shows will take place at 1pm and 3pm every day.

Visitors can also pay to hold one of the six birds.

Staff from Owl Adventures will be on hand to answer any questions visitors might have.

There will also be information available on the various conservation works that Owl Adventures undertakes, such as wild bird rescue and rehabilitation, as well as courses they run in Yorkshire.
