A YOUNG-AT-HEART great-grandmother celebrated her 103rd birthday with a party for friends and family.
Irene Gray, known to friends as Bunny, was born in Fulford in 1911.
The former window dresser at Bettys has been a resident at Hambleton Grange care home, in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, since January.
During her adult life, Irene married and had three daughters.
As well as working at Bettys, she helped with the Red Cross at Harrogate and Bridlington and did work in Richmond for people with learning difficulties.
Eve Dunwell, a care assistant at Hambleton Grange, described Mrs Gray as “very friendly and popular”.
She said: “She is very active at times and likes to party, but she also likes to have a lie-in sometimes as well.”
Staff and residents at the home sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Gray and shared a cake with her.
A party for friends and family was held later in the day.
