York Minster launches new souvenir to boost fund
5:25pm Sunday 13th October 2013 in News
FUNDRAISERS at York Minster are hoping a combination of art and ceramics will help the cathedral’s restoration programme as a new limited-edition mug goes on sale for the first time.
The mug, decorated with images of the Minster and other York landmarks, was created by artist Matthew Rice, managing director of Emma Bridgewater Limited, who has also completed designs for Canterbury Cathedral and Private Eye magazine.
It was commissioned by James Fenwick of the York Minster Fund and is available for £20, plus £4 postage and packing. Only 1,000 will be produced and money raised will support the ongoing restoration and conservation of the church’s stained glass and stone.
The mugs can be bought from Church House on Ogleforth, at the two York Minster Christmas Concerts on December 5 and 6, or by sending cheques payable to The York Minster Fund to Church House, 10-14 Ogleforth, York, YO1 7JN.
