Flood defence work starts in Tower Street, York

TOWER Street in York will be closed at Castle Mills Bridge for one night to allow flood defence work to be carried out.
The Environment Agency is replacing the sluice gate at Castle Mills, upstream of the Foss Barrier, where the River Foss meets the River Ouse.
To carry this out Tower Street will be closed to traffic from 7pm on Saturday, until 7am on Sunday, September 1 .
An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available.
